Welcome to the SummerKids and SummerYouth Website!

REGISTRATION BEGINS MONDAY, APRIL 16TH! MAKE THAT APRIL 23!)

SummerKids (Grades 1-5) is a summer childcare program for children who have just completed Kindergarten through 4th grade. (See below for older grades.)  Children are divided by grade to provide age appropriate activities.

SummerYouth (Grades 6-8): Middle School students also have a fun and safe place to be in the summer! This program offers the same services and schedule, but the youth are more involved in program design and options. It is held in a separate classroom and operates independently from SummerKids for most of the day.

These programs operate Mon-Fri, from 6:45 am - 5:45 pm. Dates typically run from mid-June until the third week in August.

Experienced, well trained staff supervise and plan fun and enriching activities such as art, gym games and sports, outdoor activities including tennis, swimming, computer activities, and other fun projects. Friday field trips to regional attractions are included at no additional cost, and transportation to other recreational activities can be provided (may be an additional fee).  We often have special interest clubs at in which children can delve more deeply into their special interests.  We also have visitors that come in from local organizations, and we plan visits to local businesses.

A special service we offer is transportation to community activities (within city limits).  There is no cost for activities that take place in our building, but we do charge a fee if van transportation must be provided.  This is a great way for working parents to keep your school aged child involved in recreational activities in town and positively engaged throughout the summer.
Other offerings include breakfast and lunch during the first six weeks.  Bemidji School District Food Service operates a free breakfast and lunch program in our building, and we take advantage of that!  Parents must provide a lunch beginning in August.  We also give children the opportunity to swim and use the computer lab regularly.
